From office bake sales to mountain treks, no fundraising activity is too big or too small. At Imran Khan Cancer Appeal, our mission is twofold:

2. Appeal for funds that can save their lives.

ABOUT IMRAN KHAN

Imran Khan is the former Prime Minister of Pakistan. And yet, he remains most vividly in public memory as the captain who led the Pakistan team to victory at the 1992 Cricket World Cup. The cricket legend has come a long way from sports to philanthropy to politics. Throughout this extraordinary journey, his driving force has remained the same: a desire for social justice and equality.

Climb a Mountain or Trek to K2

Want to join Imran Khan Cancer Appeal on life-changing outdoor adventures? Sign up for one of our 2023 challenges, like the 3 Peaks Challenge (3PC) or our K2 trek in Pakistan. We’re also doing tandem skydives this year for those die-hard adventure junkies.

Alternatively, you may prefer to embark on your own fundraising adventure. Climbing Ben Nevis and Snowdon are popular choices, but the only limit to how far you want to push yourself is yourself. We’ve had volunteers cycling solo across Route 66, embarking on road trips from Glasgow to Goa and even jumping out of planes! So, make it big and make it count!

Have a Charity Film Screening

If you’ve got access to a projector or a large-screen TV, why not round up the movie buffs for a charity film screening? Offer friends and colleagues a fun night in with snacks and a great movie, at little more than the cost of a cinema ticket.

Grow a Beard

Who said fundraising couldn’t be stylish? We’ve had scores of volunteers taking on our Grow a Beard challenge. They’ve not only revived a sunnah, but they’ve also done wonders for raising awareness of prostate cancer and funds in aid of male cancer patients in Pakistan.

Be sure to make the best use of social media (Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, Facebook) to record your glorious transformation and keep your supporters up to date.

Sell Used Books

Ask friends, co-workers, and relatives to donate used books. Sell them at school, the office or your local mosque or church. Advertise the titles you have on offer across social media networks like Facebook.

Sell Used Clothing

One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, particularly for fashionistas looking for a good find. The next time you and your friends are downsizing wardrobes, why not organise a vintage clothing sale together and turn it into a charity event with a fashion show galore? Get extra creative and use social media outlets like Facebook and Instagram to show off the looks you can put together with what you have.

Organise a Charity Dinner

This is a popular one among Imran Khan Cancer Appeal volunteers! Ask your local restaurant to give you charity dinner rates and invite all your friends and co-workers for dinner.

Have Fundraising BBQ and Quiz Evening

The best thing about this is you don’t need a venue, because who doesn’t love alfresco dining in the park? Charge an attendance fee and be sure all your guests RSVP in advance, so there’s enough food to go around. Organise a quiz to make the evening more enjoyable with prizes for the winning teams. Oh, and do remember to check the weather report!

Babysit

There is no shortage of babies around, and all parents need a break once and a while. So why not help them out?

Let friends and relatives know that you’re babysitting for charity. Parents will be more than happy to entrust their little ones to someone they know, and it’ll give them a much-needed opportunity to go out while you stay in for a good cause.

Since 1994, we’ve worked to meet demand and support patients in harder-to-reach areas of Pakistan. We founded a second Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Peshawar and established Diagnostic Centres, Laboratory Collection Centres, and Outreach Screening Clinics nationwide. Today, we’re coming together with millions of Imran Khan Cancer Appeal supporters to make history again with a third Shaukat Khanum Hospital in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city.

We believe in providing cancer care for patients, irrespective of whether they can afford it or not. But free treatment shouldn’t mean poor service. Part of our promise is to ensure our hospital stays current with technological advances in the medical field. Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital is pioneering cancer research in Pakistan and keeping abreast of the latest breakthroughs in cancer treatment with the use of state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Together, we’ve achieved…

Raising Standards

Raising the standards of healthcare with our JCI accredited hospitals and state-of-the-art medical facilities.

4. Boosting Your Brand Profile

We never miss an opportunity to thank our company partners publicly for their support. We link their brand with the causes they care about across all our social media platforms. We feature their fundraising efforts in our news and blogs. We even give them a certificate of appreciation to display at their place of business.

5. Opportunities for Sadaqah Jariyah Investments

Investing grants, gifts, shares, and other business assets such as Sadaqah Jariyah into a hospital that provides healing is one of the most rewarding ways to reap the blessings of your charity. It means patients benefit from your donation for years to come, and you benefit from the blessings in this life and the next.

To date, the Sadaqah Jariyah of our company partners has funded:

  • Vital medical equipment
  • Dedicated hospital wards
  • Operating theatres
  • Chemo bays and intensive care units
  • And even bricks to build cancer hospitals

Now, you can make history again by building our third, and largest cancer hospital.

6. A Trusted Zakat Partner

If you’re a Muslim business owner, paying Zakat on your annual profits is an obligation. We can give you peace of mind.

For over 27 years, our supporters have trusted us to administer their Zakat. And we’ve shown them that through the Islamic concept of Zakat, the most basic social justices like healthcare are never impossible. It’s how we’ve been able to provide free cancer care in a country without a national health service for more than a generation.

Find out more about the obligation of Zakat, its conditions in Islam, and Zakat transparency at Imran Khan Cancer Appeal.
