Carrying Out Your Sacrifice

On the first day of Eid, after the Eid Salah (prayer) has been performed, your Qurbani animal is slaughtered under strict supervision and according to the Shari’ah ruling on halal. The process is carried out humanely at the best abattoirs. We do not work with cheap slaughterhouses, where bad practices, poor conditions or a lack of monitoring could compromise the validity of your Qurbani. Such slaughterhouses are often also places of distress for animals, which does not align with the Sunnah.

Processing and Packaging

The meat from your Qurbani is divided into portions of 5-10 kg and frozen to ensure freshness. It is packaged and transported under controlled temperatures to the poorest neighbourhoods in Pakistan. Taking shortcuts at this juncture could risk the meat becoming spoiled before it reaches its destination. Our staff take every care to prevent this from happening.

Delivering Your Qurbani

In 2022, we delivered your Qurbani to some of the poorest communities in Sheikhupura, Sialkot, Peshawar, Bannu, Multan, Lahore, Gujranwala, Islamabad, Okara and Faisalabad.

Your donations allowed us to distribute 492,000 kgs of meat to over 82,000 families. These families were some of the hardest hit by the economic crisis and the global pandemic.

We took all the necessary precautions to avoid creating a health risk. Masks were worn, social distancing was observed and attention to hygiene was our utmost priority. This was important because so many of our beneficiaries were elderly and vulnerable.

Putting Hides to Good Use

After Eid ul-Adha, there is a surplus of animal hides from all the thousands of Qurbanis performed across Pakistan. These are normally buried, or otherwise badly disposed of, but our staff take to the streets each year to collect and sell them for a small profit. The money raised from this clean-up drive is put back into our hospitals so that we can help even more cancer patients.
